Open Courseware is provided by many Universities now. The advantage for self-motivated people is that they can access learning materials that have been used as actual courses in either a classroom setting, or an e-Learning environment, and use the materials to teach themselves. While this is not ideal for all people, and does not provide a person with a paper degree, the information obtained is valuable and can assist a person in furthering both their education and their personal goals.
